February 15th, 2020
Have you ever considered calling a doctor from the comfort of your own home?
Here’s your beginner’s guide to telehealth.
What is telehealth?
Telehealth is a form of healthcare service that is rapidly growing in popularity. Walk-in visits and consultations can all be done virtually through phone communicative methods.
Why use telehealth?
Telehealth offers convenient, confidential and over-the-phone medical care with quick turnaround so that patients can speak to a doctor without ever leaving home. No more waiting in doctor’s offices!
How do I get started?
After requesting to book an appointment online, a member of our team will contact you to set up the appointment. After that, you are in our queue to speak to a doctor.
Is telehealth covered under OHIP?
In Ontario, phone visits with a doctor are 100% covered under OHIP.
Should I call telehealth or go to the hospital?
Telehealth should only be used as an alternative to walk-in clinic appointments. If you believe you are having a medical emergency, please dial 911.
Can I call telehealth for mental health issues?
Yes, our doctors are trained and ready to help with mental health issues.
